HOW THEY MET: Under the shelters outside Bar Solo on a hot, but wet summer evening in August 2004.

PROPOSAL: On Christmas Day 2006, their dog Chloe had a small gift box tied around her neck with a silver ribbon which Nadia unwrapped while Damion proposed.

VENUE: Auchen Castle in Dumfries and Galloway on December 31, 2007.

THEME: Hogmanay, clashing pinks and bright red.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A strapless satin and tulle dress by Sincerity, decorated in beads, Swarovski crystals and sequins; a crystal and pearl tiara; and a mid-length veil – all from Country Dreams in Carlisle. Nadia wore her great grand-mother’s engagement ring borrowed from her mum.

GROOMSMEN: Chris Thompson, 28, and Matthew Buck, 25, were best men. The groom’s brothers Kevin Glover, 32, and Tim Glover-Smith, 16, were ushers. The groom’s nephew Joshua Holmes, nine, was a page boy. John Pattinson, 29, was Master of Ceremonies. They wore grey Prince Edward suits with silver waistcoats and ties from Russell’s Wedding Studio, Carlisle. The groom wore deep purple accessories.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s mother Eileen Kerr was maid of honour and walked Nadia down the aisle. She wore a gunmetal grey and silver gown. Larrie Robey, 31, Laura Martinelli, 30, and Catherine Thompson, 26, were bridesmaids. They wore strapless grape dresses from Coast. Jessica Miller, 10, was a flowergirl and wore a pink dress.

FLOWERS: A hand-tied bouquet of pink and red roses while the bridesmaids and Jessica had similar bouquets with purple roses. Made by Brenda Dowding, of Gardenalia.

RECEPTION: A champagne Kir Royale reception at Auchen Castle for 100 guests with a further 20 in the evening.

TABLE SETTINGS: Tall, cream candelabras decorated with pink and red flowers. Scattered petals.

FAVOURS: Boxes of chocolates and fortune cookies with bath fizz by Cath Kidston for the ladies and party boxes for the children.

CAKE: A square, three-tier fruit cake decorated with pink flowers and ribbon designed and made by the groom’s father Dennis Smith.

FIRST DANCE: Your Song from the film Moulin Rouge. Damion lifted Nadia into the air for the grand finale.

ENTERTAINMENT: Scottish ceilidh band; disco by Jay Wykes, of Carlisle; and a piper played in the New Year.

HONEYMOON: Buenos Aires in Argentina and Rio de Janeiro and Buzios in Brazil.
