Luanne Jayne McLean, 27, is a fashion and beauty journalist originally from Carlisle, and Robin Everingham, 27, is a civil servant. They live in Essex.

HOW THEY MET: While on holiday with friends in Greece in September 2002.
PROPOSAL: Robin proposed over a home-cooked meal with a ring that Luanne had designed.
VENUE: Castle Inn Hotel, Bassenthwaite, on September 14, 2007.
THEME: Lilac, gold and butterflies.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory, strapless, pearl-beaded Albert Sung dress and lace bolero from Confetti and Lace, Essex; a Linzi Jay tiara decorated in flowers and pearls from Wedding Warehouse, Carlisle; and a veil embroidered with leaves borrowed from her bridesmaid Jillian.
GROOMSMEN: Martin Reid, 37, and James Adams, 27, were best men. They wore Prince Edward suits with pinstriped trousers from Greenwoods and embroidered waistcoats from BHS.
BRIDESMAIDS: The groom’s sister-in-law Jillian Frank, 29, and Jade Nugent, 12, were bridesmaids. They wore satin dresses. The bride’s cousin Megan Bell, two, was a flowergirl and wore an organza dress with embroidered butterfly detail from BHS.
FLOWERS: A hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies, white roses, lavender and lisianthus with smaller versions for Jillian. Jade and Megan had pomanders tied with lilac organza ribbon all from Edmonson Florists, Carlisle.
TRANSPORT: A 1964 green vintage Leyland Titan double decker bus from D K & N Bowman Coach Hire.
RECEPTION: Castle Inn for 50 guests with 50 more in the evening.
TABLE SETTINGS: Glass bowls of irises and packs of cards for novice magicians to use. The tables were named after film stars such as Caine, Garland and Hepburn.
FAVOURS: Lilac bath bombs for the ladies and heart chocolates in lilac foil for the men.
CAKE: A six-tier cake with a top tier of carrot cake decorated in lilac flowers and ribbon. Made by Jackie Mayes, of Appleby.
FIRST DANCE: Maybe I’m Amazed by Paul McCartney performed by Jem.
ENTERTAINMENT: Motiv 8 disco and karaoke, during which the bride’s grandfather Robert McLean and friends performed a cabaret act. There was also a boat ride around Derwentwater for 60 guests.
HONEYMOON: Bangkok and Koh Samui, Thailand.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Creative Edge, of Carlisle.
VIDEOGRAPHER: Steven Brewer, a friend of the couple.
