Allerdale win a cup final at last

PERSEVERANCE has paid off for Allerdale Leisure U8 soccer team.
After reaching three tournament finals without success, they’ve finally won one.
Last month they won a tournament at Ulverston, beating Black Combe Casuals 4-2 in the final.
The event also included an U7s’ competition and Allerdale Leisure U7s got as far as the semi-finals were they lost to the overall winners.
In the U8 event nine teams took part and were split into two groups.
Allerdale progressed into the semi-finals where they defeated Cleator Moor Celtic 3-0.
In the final they came up against Black Combe Casuals and won 4-2 with strikes from Oliver Dustin (2) and Matthew Wilson (2).
There were also nine teams in the U7 competition. Allerdale were runners-up in their group and lost in the semi-finals, 5-1 against Crown Newlaithes.
