Bigger trains for Sellafield workers
Last updated 10:13, Saturday, 06 September 2008
New longer trains could be to be introduced on the west Cumbrian coast line to ease overcrowding on the daily rush hour services to and from Sellafield.
Northern Rail plans to bring the new trains in on December 15 if proposals are accepted by Network Rail.
A re-signalling scheme is also proposed for Whitehaven and Maryport.
