Topinka lines up for Comets against Newcastle

Tomas Topinka will be back in Workington colours on Saturday when the Comets race against Newcastle Diamonds.
Topinka had to pull-out of his last scheduled guest appearance for the west Cumbrians at Berwick because of a stomach upset.
But he gets another chance because Workington number one Daniel Nermark is involved in the final qualifier in Poland to try and make next year’s Grand Prix series.
Team manager Ian Thomas explained: “Daniel has to leave on Saturday to make sure he’s signed in for practice and although we’ve looked at all ways of getting round that, he has to be there.
“Obviously it’s a big personal meeting for him, with the prospect of Grand Prix speedway next season and we wish him well.
Nermark has only had one outing for the Comets since he came back from injury and he scored 12 paid 14 in the recent home win over Glasgow. Friday’s match with Stoke was rained-off.
After being out for five weeks through injury Nermark is looking for a big finish to the season – GP qualification, winning the Premier League individual title at Sheffield on September 21 and helping Workington to their first seven-man title.
Topinka can also do the Comets a favour on Wednesday by making sure his team King’s Lynn beat Reading and make it more difficult for them to pip Workington to a top-four finish.
The Racers crashed 53-39 at home last night to title challengers Somerset Rebels and now have to win all three away matches to pip the Comets for a play-off position.
Ex-Comet Ulrich Ostergaard scored 16 for the Racers and Jordan Frampton top-scored for the Rebels with 13 and two bonus.
The Racers go to King's Lynn on Wednesday and still have to ride at Scunthorpe and Stoke.
