Grandson saved from stings
Last updated 16:25, Tuesday, 16 September 2008
On Sunday, September 7, I took my two grandchildren along the cycleway beside Siddick Ponds.
My four-year-old grandson unfortunately was stung by wasps on the face and head.
They also got inside his T-shirt and trousers, stinging him on the back and leg and he was screaming to get them out.
A couple came to my aid in stripping his clothes to rid him of them, and were kind enough to give us a lift back home – the woman was stung on her hand for her trouble and I was stung on the neck.
I did not get the couple’s name but would like to express my sincere thanks for their help.
I hope the lady recovered quickly – my grandson was fine the next day.
Allerdale Pest Control promised to deal with the nest as others have been attacked by these wasps too.
