Another win for the new boys

Dearham Rangers A 3 St Bees 0
This was the new Dearham Rangers A U10 team’s first home game and they were up against a very strong St Bees but it didn’t stop them netting three goals and coming away the victors in a very strong and competitive match.
The first 10 minutes was end-to-end with both teams producing some very good football but strong defending denied any chances of goal.
The deadlock was finally broken when Rangers’ Lewis Brown headed the home side into the lead.
Minutes later it was Rangers once again on the attack resulting in danger man Macauley Hannah’s strong left-footed strike finding the back of the net to give them a 2-0 advantage at the break.
In the second half Rangers were still the stronger side but St Bees battled hard. Strong defending from Conor Gilmour, Matthew Suddart and Nathan McLachlan shielded keeper Callum Irving and reduced the visitors to long-range shots forcing Irving to make some critical saves.
Rangers managed to put the game out of reach after some impressive passing resulted in Hannah once again scoring.
Dearham Rangers B 8
Frizington Whitestar 0
Newly formed Rangers B U10 side played their first ever competitive match and took three points with a commanding display against Whitestar.
Rangers took control from the start and with some slick passing soon found the back of the net with a greata shot from Kyle Hewitt.
A further three goals from Hewitt and four from Jack parker sealed their win.
Workington 2
Cockermouth 0
Extra time was needed to settle this U10 League Cup tie after both sides had been evenly matched.
Workington broke the deadlock in the first period of extra time with a goal from Ben Powell and then sealed the game in the second period with a strike from Adam Cowan. Liam Williamson gave a strong performance.

Bigrigg Bulls 0
This was a very tight U10 game with both sides playing some good football.
Despite strong shots from Ben Powell, Liam Williamson and the outstanding Adam Cowan, Workington were unable to breach the Bigrigg goal until, with only 10 minutes left, Powell finally scored.
Netherhall 7
Hensingham 0
Netherhall U16 kicked off their season with an impressive win over Hensingham.
A hat-trick by new signing Liam Hanley and two from new recruit Reece Alderson were added to with a well-taken penalty by goalie Shaun Routledge and a goal by captain Sam Beattie.
The game finished 7-0 with the visitors not able to penetrate the Netherhall defence much at all.

Bransty Rangers 2
A hat-trick from Matthew Wilson plus goals from Brooklyn Weir and Matthew Stoddart took Allerdale to victory in this U9 game.
Maryport Monsters 7
Whitehaven MS 0
Dylan Holm scored a hat-trick as Maryport took the points in this U9 encounter. Jamie Burns (2), Brad Martin and Lewis Penn were also on target.
Cockermouth 3
Cleator Moor Celtic A 1
Goals from Jonty Fish, Hugh Taylor and Mark Campbell gave Cockermouth victory in this U12 match.

Callum Best scored for the home side and Aiden Wainwright for the visitors in this U13 clash.
Workington Jnrs A 9
St Bees 2
Kieron Sloan, Lee Wolfe and Matt Reid scored two goals each while Gordon Hawthorn, Josh Gartland and Ashley Kelly were also on target for Workington in this U14.
Workington Blue Star 2
Stainburn Devils 3
Tom Ryden and Andrew Carruthers were the scorers from Blue Star in this U16 division two game while Jamie Glover, James Wood and Stephen Clark struck for the Devils.
Maryport Rangers 0
Workington 13
Workington kicked off their first match of the season with an outstanding performance.
Workington were 10-0 up with two goals each from Liam McCullough, Matthew Smith, Liam Armstrong, Matthew Fowler and Bradley Nicholson going into the second half.
Maryport tried their hardest to get into the game but Workington proved to be too strong for their opponents and went on to score a further three goals from Callum Sutton, McCullough and Smith.
