TESCO Cumberland league’s new fixture secretary Dale Brotherton, formerly chairman of Workington Reds, has to be wondering why he took the job on.
The new season is only seven weeks old and already there are more than 50 games to rearrange.
Whitehaven Miners tried to keep their cup game with Carlisle City on Saturday by switching the venue to the Copeland Stadium but even that failed as it fell to the weather again.

Frizington Whitestar hosted Longtown in the premier division and the served up nine goals between them as Longtown ran out 6-3 winners.
Kevin Thompson and Gareth Hill scored for Aspatria in their 2-0 victory at Cockermouth, the win keeping Aspatria top of the table but only on goal difference as Netherhall ran out 3-1 winners over Silloth.
