Find out before you judge

I read with interest the article about Tracy Elliott regarding her illness with ME. I too have ME and have had for three years.
I totally disagree with the letter from Jill Cooper from Rugby (News & Star, September 24) who said that “I am glad to hear that Tracy has been tested for other things because people with ME discover that they really have other difficult to diagnose illnesses”.
How does she know this? Does she suffer from ME herself?
I have had various blood tests, kidney tests, also coeliac test which all came back normal. It is not in our minds at all. The doctors and specialists are not stupid and do every test they can to make sure it is not an underlying illness before making their diagnoses.
She needs to find out a lot more about the illness before passing judgement like this.
