HOW THEY MET: On a night out at Chasers, Workington on April 8, 2006.

PROPOSAL: Mike proposed in Cinderella’s Castle, Disneyland on December 29, 2006.

VENUE: Armathwaite Hall, on May 24.

THEME: Fairytale.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: Pale pink Je T’aime dress with a sweetheart neckline and crystals on the corseted bodice with a train, a short veil with crystals, and tiara from Olivia James Bridal, Egremont.

GROOMSMEN: Stewart Ackerley, 29, was best man. The groom’s brother Andrew Melville, 32, the groom’s cousin John Melville, 34, Ben Nixon, 28, and Carl Sanderson, 31, were ushers. The bride’s second cousin, three-year-old Keenan Fowler, and the bride’s godson, five-year-old Stefan James Young, were page boys.

BRIDESMAIDS: Kayleigh Amor, 22, was chief bridesmaid. The bride’s sister Emily Gates, 19, was a bridesmaid. The groom’s god-daughter Ellie Ackerley, and the bride’s god-daughter, Briony Young, both seven, Charlotte Grimshaw, two, and the groom’s second cousin Yasmin Melville, also two, were flowergirls. They wore white, strapless, fish-tail dresses with pale pink sashes while Charlotte and Yasmin wore white and pink dresses – all from Olivia James Bridal.

FLOWERS: Hand-tied bouquets of white and pink roses for the bride while the bridesmaids had smaller bouquets of pink roses with crystals – al from Flower Basket in Whitehaven.

TRANSPORT: Carriage with two white horses supplied by Hoof Beats, of Maryport, and Rolls Royce Daimlers supplied by Highams Wedding Services, of Hayton.

RECEPTION: Armathwaite Hall for a wedding breakfast for 98 guests with an reception at Ennerdale Country House Hotel, Cleator with a marquee and buffet for 230 guests.

TABLE SETTINGS: Pale pink candle holders with white candles, silver birch twigs with pale pink roses and white gypsophila.

FAVOURS: Lip gloss for the ladies; lottery tickets for the men; and keepsake boxes filled with toys, dolls and sweets for the children.

CAKE: Individual cup cakes with pale pink roses and ribbon supplied by Gillian Marr, of Mealsgate; a Cinderella’s castle fruit cake made by family friend Ann Bullock; and a white chocolate fountain and Champagne fountain supplied by Fountains of Desire, Egremont.

FIRST DANCE: All My Life by Shayne Ward.

ENTERTAINMENT: Boogie Nights, of Workington, and harpist Harriet Lamb.

HONEYMOON: Mexico.
