THREE of Cumbria’s top days out will do battle in the Best Visitor Attraction category at the CN Group Business Awards 2008.
Penrith’s Rheged, Walby Farm Park at Crosby-on-Eden, near Carlisle, and the South Lakes Animal Park, at Dalton-in-Furness, came out on top in a public vote and will go through to the final.
The category is sponsored by Cumbria County Council. CN Group owns and publishes The Cumberland News.
Ten attractions were originally shortlisted after nominations by readers of The Cumberland News, the Times & Star, The Whitehaven News and the North West Evening Mail.
They were then put to the public vote with people able to register their support via text, on CN Group websites and by using a coupon in our newspapers.
Rheged, Walby Farm Park and South Lakes Animal Park garnered the most votes and representatives from all three will attend the awards ceremony on October 30 to find out who has won overall.
A list of the finalists in all other categories can be seen at www.cumberland-news.co.uk online.
