Modern manners? No thanks!

When I was a youngster I was made to sit down and write thank you letters whenever I received a present, usually at birthdays and Christmas.
Nowadays the most common way to say thanks, revealed by two in five people is by telephone.
Not surprisingly the younger generation pick up their mobiles rather than pens and text their messages, usually with ‘TA’ or ‘Nice One’.
The survey also revealed that over a million of us never say thank you. My mum would have been horrified.
