Foursome

EIGHTEEN pairs entered the Daily Mail Foursomes. The winners were Chris Neale and Liam Skillen with 69-64.5 and the runners-up were Andy Williamson and Neil Hadfield (75-65.5).

Other good scores included James Fisher and Stuart Allen (76-66), Stuart Sikora and Alan Murdoch (82-66.5), Martin and Nick Laidlow (75-67) and Andy Stott and Niall McGreevy (81-68.5).

Congratulations to Neil Hadfield for a hole-in-one on the 15th.

The Seniors’ Open attracted a large entry and weather that wasn’t too kind. The overall winner was John McGuire with 38 points.

In the 55-65 age group the winner was Des McNicholl (35), beating Phillip Risino with a better back-nine score.

In the 66-and-over age group the winner was Geoff Wright (35), the runner-up Brent Connell (34).

In the ladies’ section the winner was Pat Wimpress (32) and the runner-up was Ann Parker (27).

Forty-five hopefuls entered the first round of the Winter Competition and the leading scores were Jonathan Lea (73-59), Mark Richardson (64-60), Phillip Risino (75-64), Chris Wilson (71-64), Charles Neale (72-65), James Fisher (73-65), Andy Williamson (74-65), Jim Beattie (75-65), Mark Cain (80-66) and Paul Newton (81-66).

Round two was played in much tougher conditions and the leading scores were Ronnie Walker (82-70), Geoff Wright (90-74), Jim Beattie (86-76), Nick Laidlow (85-76), Andy Williamson (87-78), Tom Williamson (92-78), Geoff Bartle (92-78), Charles Neale (85-79), John Moyes (88-80), James Fisher (87-80), Phillip Hardingham (96-80) and Jonathan Lea (92-80).

In the ladies’ section the LGU Pendant was won by lady captain Anne Donohoe with 92-66.

In the last Skylarks’ Jumble in September the winner was Ken Smith with 42 points, second was Chris Brook (41), third Peter Inglis (41) and fourth was George Bright (39).

In the Millennium Trophy first were Raymond Mackay and Neil Smith with 46 points, having a better back nine than runners-up Peter Inglis and Graham Stukins.

Other good scores included David Pollard and Toby Smith, Richard Wimpress and Roy Buck, each pair with 45.

In the most recent Jumble the winner was Peter Inglis (36) followed by Brent Connell (34), Neil Smith (33), John Taylor (32) and Ted Jackson (32).
