Schools title is won in extra time

COCKERMOUTH School are the Allerdale Schools’ U16 football champions.
CHAMPIONS: Cockermouth School’s U16 football team
They defeated Maryport’s Netherhall School 5-2 after extra time at Cockermouth School on Friday.
The game managed to go ahead despite the horrendous weather the previous day, a testament to the quality of the new pitches at Cockermouth.
The teams were 2-2 at the end of normal time, with both sides having created lots of chances, playing some attractive passing football.
Cockermouth eventually managed to win the game 5-2 in extra time.
The Cockermouth goals came from captain Mark Sloan (2), winger Liam Taylor and striker Brett McMillan. The fifth was an own goal.
