Lynne Marie Kelly, 42, a check-out supervisor, and Peter Burns, 49, a civil engineer at Sellafield, live in Cleator Moor
HOW THEY MET: On April 1, 1994 in their local pub.
PROPOSAL: Peter was called up to go to Iraq with his TA regiment. On his return in June 2003, they went for a meal where he proposed.
VENUE: Grove Court Hotel, Cleator on May 3.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory, halter-neck dress with a diamante and pearl tiara – all from Olivia James Bridal, Egremont.
GROOMSMEN: George Mackie was best man. The bride’s brother Paul Kelly and the groom’s nephew Rikki Burns were ushers. The groom wore his Royal Engineers blue uniform. The groomsmen wore black suits with scarlet ties.
BRIDESMAIDS: The groom’s daughter Kimberley Burns, 24, and the bride’s niece Alexandra Martin, 18, were bridesmaids. The bride’s five-year-old niece Georgia Thompson was flowergirl. They wore scarlet dresses from Olivia James Bridal.
FLOWERS: For the bride, a hand-tied bouquet of red roses with diamantes, while the bridesmaids had cream roses. Georgia had a basket of flower petals made by Collette Green.
RECEPTION: A bucks fizz reception for 70 guests at the Grove Court Hotel with a buffet for 240 in the evening.
TABLE SETTINGS: Glass bowls with tea lights, red and cream balloons from Crown Celebrations.
CAKE: A two-tier, heart-shaped fruit cake made by Rita Edge.
FIRST DANCE: Hero by Enrique Iglesias.
ENTERTAINMENT: Disco by Paul Hoggarth and cabaret by Jimmy Mclean.
HONEYMOON: Cyprus.
