HOW THEY MET: A party at a friend’s house in November 2003.
PROPOSAL: At Cardiff Castle on Rachel’s birthday in June 2004.
VENUE: All Saints’ Church, Cockermouth on May 25.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A Demetrios white dress, a white veil and silver tiara – from Bridal House, Maryport.
GROOMSMEN: Simon Goodwin, 34, was best man. The bride’s brother Daniel Burns, 21, and the groom’s cousin Mark Donnelly, 30, were ushers. The groom’s cousin three-year-old Hayden Fawthorp was a page boy. They wore Prince Edward suits from Tom Little, Maryport.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s cousins Tracy Armstrong, 23, Julie Evans, 18, Jackie Evans, 16, Sarah Bailiff, 23, and Hayley Joy, 15, were bridesmaids and wore sand-coloured dresses. The groom’s cousin five-year-old Caitlin Irving was a flowergirl and wore a white dress – all provided by Bridal House.
FLOWERS: Roses and lilies from Cottage Garden, Cockermouth.
TRANSPORT: A horse and carriage from the Heavy Horse Centre, Dearham; a Daimler from Higham’s Wedding Services, Hayton.
RECEPTION: Hundith Hill, Lorton.
CAKE: A four-tier cake made by the bride’s aunt Elizabeth Bailiff and topped with a castle made by Pamela Allonby.
FIRST DANCE: I Do by Westlife.
ENTERTAINMENT: Geoff Higham.
HONEYMOON: Malta and Australia.
