IT’S been a disastrous week for my street cred.
Leonard Cohen: Prince of Wales thinks he’s fascinating
Back in the Sixties I was a Leonard Cohen fan long before he was known to a wider audience. It was great for impressing the girls.
I’ve just been to see Cohen in concert on his revival tour. At 74 the singer/songwriter is the embodiment of charisma. He’s definitely still got it.
Cohen is once again front page picture material on pop mags. And getting rave reviews from music writers. He’s cool again, which means I’m cool again, too.
But wait. A note on his fan website says that Leonard has an aficionado in high places. Prince Charles reckons he’s a fascinating chap.
Bang goes my newly re-discovered cool.
