Scots RL is going up in the world

RUGBY LEAGUE in Scotland has received a tremendous boost following the Bravehearts’ World Cup win over Fiji, says boss Steve McCormack.
The 18-16 victory on Wednesday saw Scotland, who started the game with four ex-Haven players in the ranks, including playmaker John Duffy, finish second in Pool B.
“These boys have created a little bit of history,” beamed McCormack, pictured above. “Rugby league is obviously a developing sport in Scotland and this will give it a boost.
“We have been described as minnows all week and that we wouldn’t have a chance in this game.
“We took that quite personally as a group of Scotland coaching staff and players. People back in Scotland will see that and have got a team to be proud of.
“The amount of defending we had to do and considering the points conceded, it was a fantastic effort. We did it tough but I couldn’t be a prouder coach at the moment.”
