GREAT Clifton Homing Society’s old cocks show in the Lions Club, Great Clifton, attracted 48 entries.
It was judged by John and Linda Trodden who gave first place to Wedgewood and Burridge, of Great Clifton HS.
Tomorrow’s show by the society is for old hens. Judging in the Lions Club starts at 2pm.
Results – 1, Wedgewood and Burridge, Great Clifton HS; 2, Kevin Evans, Workington Victoria; 3, P Pearson and Parton, Aspatria; 4, Hatfield and Devlin, Workington Victoria; 5, Evans; 6, Wilkinson and Moody, Great Clifton HS; 7, Wedgewood and Burridge, Great Clifton HS; 8, Steele and Lawman, Workington Victoria.
Flimby West Coast Flying Club is to hold a series of shows every Sunday in the Princess Royal at Flimby.
There will be six shows – the first being on Sunday for young cocks and the last, on December 14, for old cocks or hens.
In between are: November 16, young hens; November 23, young cocks or hens; November 30, old cocks; December 7, old hens.
The entry fee is 25p a pen with a 50p nomination and there will be a minimum of £10 for each show in sponsored prize money. Penning will be 1pm each week with judging to start at 2pm.
And Workington and District IFC are holding a show on Thursday in Harrington Legion for likeliest racer young hens. Penning is at 7pm and judging 8pm.
