SHE’S an impressive woman and no mistake. Say what you like about John Prescott – and Pauline surely does – his missus is in a class of her own.

John Prescott: The Class System And Me (BBC One) was a hugely-entertaining profile of a man who never got over failing his 11-plus. He’s carried grudges against the middle and upper classes (as defined by him) ever since.

But feisty, feminine, funny, directly witty, clever Mrs P – my goodness, what a star she is. The boorish John is lucky to have her.

Peeping into their joined-at-the-hip relationship – he leans on her, she’s happy to prop him up – has been a joy. Bouncing off each other with just enough sparring banter to make life interesting, they should be given their own TV chat show immediately.
