Will the real Cllr Young stand up?
Last updated 11:37, Monday, 10 November 2008
Stewart Young is the new leader of Cumbria County Council.
But does he have a background in medicine as well as politics? Reiver asks because the Labour councillor for Upperby’s handwriting has proved rather difficult to decipher, in the finest tradition of doctors.
This becomes apparent in the latest edition of Your Cumbria, the magazine which the council sends to households across the county. On page two Councillor Young introduces the magazine and signs off with his signature. His name and title are then printed underneath, except his name is written as Stuart rather than Stewart.
Reiver trusts that the new man will make a bigger impression in the coming months as he addresses the rather petty squabble between the ruling Labour group and the county’s Conservatives and Liberal Democrats.
