ADVICE that could save lives on Cumbrian Roads is being served with a free burger tonight.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and Cumbria Road Policing Unit are giving young drivers road awareness training at Burger King in Carlisle.
The event, which marks national road safety week, aims to warn young drivers of the consequences of anti social driving and stress the importance of running a safe vehicle.
CFRS has been offering road awareness training for several years.
Statistics show there has been a reduction in number of road deaths in the target 17-25 age group.
But firefighters also want older Cumbrians to heed their Protect the Ones You Love road safety campaign.
Carlisle watch manager Anthony Rooney has seen first hand the trauma suffered by family members coming to the scene of a road collision to say goodbye – a scenario he wishes he did not have to witness.
He is asking people to think about what it would be like to lose a loved one in a traffic accident and take every possible precaution to stop it happening.
Tonight’s awareness training starts at 7pm.
