SUAVE and smooth with a glint in his eye. But that’s enough about Cumbrian MP David Maclean – what about Napoleon Solo of The Man from U.N.C.L.E.?
The Man from U.N.C.L.E?
A reader has pointed out the uncanny resemblance between the member for Penrith and the Border, who has just celebrated 25 years at Westminster, and super-spy Napoleon Solo, as played by American actor Robert Vaughn in the 1960s TV series.
And having thought about it, Reiver can state with utter confidence that he has never seen Maclean and Solo together in the same room.
