GEN II
Last updated 15:44, Wednesday, 19 November 2008
GEN II, Cumbria’s largest engineering apprentice training provider, delivers a wide range of apprenticeships and adult training.
We have five training centres in Cumbria, at Furness, Sellafield, Cleator Moor, Workington and Carlisle.
GEN II offer an extensive range of apprenticeships covering electrical, system and control, fabrication, mechanical, nuclear, process, scientific and printing.
With an apprenticeship you can train on the job, get qualified, get paid and get a career – all in one go! You’ll gain hands-on experience in a working environment, while learning. Apprenticeships are for everyone regardless of age, gender, or ethnic group – in fact we have more than three times the national average of female engineering apprentices.
So why choose GEN II? We have strong links with employers including Sellafield Ltd, Amec, Corus, Iggesund Paperboard, Innovia and UKAEA. Close partnerships enable GEN II to offer real career prospects – we pride ourselves that on average 98% of GEN II learners who achieve their apprenticeship with us move immediately into full-time employment.
With almost 90 staff we can draw on more than 50 years’ experience and have in excess of 500 learners undergoing training.
We are also able to offer foundation degrees in nuclear-related technologies.
