Tasers will aid public safety
Last updated 14:36, Wednesday, 26 November 2008
I've been watching the television about the police being issued with taser guns for west Cumbria.
I would like to say that this is the best news that west Cumbria has had for 40 years. I’ve been a bad lad in the past myself but the police and the public in this community and the rest of Cumbria have got to be protected from these terrible people that we have in society.
I was known as a bit of hard man in my younger days in west Cumbria but now I’ve settled down in the community. We do have a lot of violence in Egremont and, as we know, the police cannot be everywhere at weekends, but maybe these taser guns will do a lot for the public.
The youngsters have no respect for their elders, the quicker they learn to have respect for the older people in this community then we will have respect for the youngsters.
I wish the police and everybody else involved the very best of luck.
