Early strike puts visitors in front

This was an end-to-end game where both teams played good attacking football. Both teams played good football but Workington broke the deadlock with an excellent strike from Reece Weaver.

Workington took the advantage in the first half with an excellent shot into the top corner by Reece Weaver which gave the keeper no chance.
Cockermouth responded well in the second half with Ryan Gorley pulling them level, beating the keeper to a back pass.
Ben Powell then restored Workington’s lead, poking home a rebound off the keeper.
Gorley equalised for Cockermouth when he reacted first in a goalmouth scramble but Workington’s man of the match Powell then converted a corner to give Workington the points.
In an entertaining game Thomas White was voted Cockermouth’s man of the match after an excellent first-half performance.

In the second half Workington scored again through striker Ben Powell.
Cockermouth got on the scoresheet to make it 2-1 and scored yet again to make it 2-2, both teams playing good football.
Cockermouth scored yet again to make it 2-2. Shortly before full-time Liam Williamson took a shot at goal, which was saved by the keeper but he couldn’t hold on to it and it was Powell who finished off and got his second.
Powell was also Workington’s man of the match.
