Czech trialist slots home winner for Carlisle United reserves

Czech trialist Jakub Hottek upstaged Carlisle United’s established stars with a matchwinning performance for the reserves yesterday.
The long-haired former under-21 international scored the winner in the second string’s 3-2 victory over Accrington.
And his impressive display down the left wing will have given caretaker boss Greg Abbott plenty to think about, according to coach Eric Kinder. “He looked the part,” said Kinder. “He was nice and tidy, his crossing was very good and he took his goal really well,” said Kinder.
“I think he is going to be with us for a couple of days’ training and it will be interesting what happens now.”
The 6ft 2in former Slavia Prague and Livingston man Hottek, 25, is a free agent and recently had a trial with Motherwell.
New loan signing Chris Birchall played 90 minutes and will come into the frame for Saturday’s League One trip to Swindon.
