HOW THEY MET: In 1998, when the bride was working as a waitress in the groom’s family pub, Stoneybeck Inn. They liked each other straight away, but didn’t get together until April 2003.
PROPOSAL: Paul proposed on New Year’s Eve 2004 when they were out with friends.
VENUE: Plumpton Church on August 8. The villagers tied the church gates until the wedding party threw coins for the children and the ropes were cut.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: Soft gold taffeta gown enhanced with satin and beading from The Wedding Barn, Appleby.
GROOMSMEN: Ronnie Thompson, 39, was best man. The bride’s brother Graeme McAleese, 29, the groom’s brother-in-law Anthony Woods, 34, and the bride and groom’s son two-year-old Tommy Harrington were ushers. They wore chocolate Prince Edward suits from The Wedding Barn.
BRIDESMAIDS: The groom’s sister Dawn Wood, 31, was chief bridesmaid and friends Angela Freud, 30, and Anita Potter, 33, were bridesmaids. They wore chocolate brown two-pieces.
FLOWERS: The bride carried orange roses, maple leaves, honey-coloured poppies and eucalyptus while the bridesmaids had silk gerbera – supplied by Margaret Metcalfe, of Eternal Flowers.
TRANSPORT: The bride went to church in Paul’s mum’s Honda Legend and they left in Paul’s late father’s Mk2 Ford Granada.
RECEPTION: Pimms reception for 100 guests at the Roundthorne Country House Hotel, Penrith with a further 78 in the evening.
CAKE: Fruit, chocolate and Victoria sponge cake made by the bride’s mum.
FIRST DANCE: A Moment Like This by Leona Lewis.
ENTERTAINMENT: A Touch Of Class, Penrith.
HONEYMOON: St Anne’s, Blackpool
PHOTOGRAPHER/ VIDEOGRAPHER: Harringtons, of Penrith.
