Amanda Mounsey & Phillip Perry

AMANDA Mounsey, 27, a buying administrator, and Phillip Perry, 30, a maintenance engineer, both work for Cumbrian Seafoods in Seaham. They are both originally from Maryport and live in County Durham.

HOW THEY MET: They knew each other at school but became close friends when they worked together. They started their relationship in 2001.

PROPOSAL: Phillip proposed on his 28th birthday – October 16, 2005 – in the Dominican Republic.

VENUE: The Amphitheatre at The Elysium Beach Resort Hotel, Paphos, Cyprus on October 16, 2007 – two years after the proposal and on Phillip’s 30th birthday.

THEME: The beach.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An Ian Stuart, ivory satin, A-line strapless gown beaded in Swarovski crystals with a gathered corsage of roses from I Do, Cockermouth.

GROOMSMEN: Chris Baird was best man. He wore grey linen trousers while Phillip wore white – both from Marks and Spencer – with silver or cream waistcoats and cravats from Tom Little, of Maryport, and toe-post sandals from Next.

BRIDESMAIDS: Cheryl Bentley was matron of honour. Nichola Taylor, Justine Byrom, Rachel Twentyman and Claire Logan were bridesmaids. They wore Alvina Valenta moon blue and slate dresses from Dresses and Dreams in Workington.

FLOWERS: A hand-tied pyramid bouquet of roses decorated with Swarovski crystals. The bridesmaids had the same flowers in over-arm bouquets, all from Enchanted Flower Lounge, Cyprus.

TRANSPORT: A white Mercedes.

RECEPTION: Cocktails and canapés at the Elysium Hotel atrium followed by a four-course meal in the open-air restaurant.

TABLE SETTINGS: Fishbowls filled with roses and butterfly decorations. Starfish and deckchair tea-lights, seashell confetti, scented roses, nautical place-card holders and handmade wedding booklets made by the bride.

FAVOURS: Personalised beach bags for the ladies and buckets and spades for the men, both filled with “just married” mint rock.

CAKE: Individual chocolate and lemon sponge cakes decorated with chocolate swirls and chocolate flowers made by the Elysium Hotel.

FIRST DANCE: Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

ENTERTAINMENT: “A CD player and ourselves.”

HONEYMOON: A further week at the Elysium Hotel.
