You’re in the army now (almost)
Last updated 21:23, Sunday, 20 April 2008
The Army Cadet Force has long been active in Cumbria and, given the army’s current deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan, has acquired new significance.
A force to be reckoned with: Carlisle cadets armed and camouflaged for an exercise during the Ripon 1990 camp
Cadets start by learning the basics before moving on to the ACF Star Cadet Awards. Skills include drill and turnout, fieldcraft, skill at arms, first aid, community projects, map and compass, shooting and a wide range of sports and physical challenges.
