IN THE Cockermouth and District Snooker League division two home side Glasson were to take on Trades Hall, a game that was to result in an excellent comeback, as from 3-0 down Trades Hall fought their way to a 3-3 draw.
The first frame saw Glasson’s Richard Lewthwaite beat Ivan Halbert 48-25. Next up was 15-year-old Ryan Barker, who all guns blazing, defeated Andy Elliott.
Glasson’s captain Dave Chapman carried on the good work with a 51-32 win over Allan Fisherwell and it looked like Glasson’s match.
But Trades Hall’s John McGee started the fight-back by beating Craig Denwood 65-59 and then Barry Prytheric defeated Glasson’s Les White 69-8.
The final frame saw Glasson’s Karl Burns and Trades’ Morris Ennis slug it out. With Burns looking to seal the match win and Morris to complete the comeback neither player was going to lie down. Safety play by both players had definitely been abandoned and it was not until Ennis potted a great final pink to complete the comeback.
