How far does Jonny run?

I WISH I had a way of finding out how far Jonny Wright runs in a game. The lad is never stood still. Running the line, chasing through balls, coming deep, and not afraid to shoot. Jonny is a Blue Square North Wayne Rooney, just not as ugly.
Jonny should be proud of his first season at this level. He’s Reds top scorer with 14 goals this season.
I was at the game on Tuesday night and Reds thoroughly deserved the win. They dominated play and played some fantastic football.
Craig Johnston in the middle of the field also impressed me. I’ve seen these lads play before but Jonno was on form on Tuesday, and even though Dan Kirkup was given man of the match by the sponsors, mainly for his goal, I would definitely have given it to Johnston.
It is looking good for Reds next season, despite the letter we had in the paper last week, saying that Darren Edmondson should be sacked.
If he can keep this squad of players together over the summer, then I honestly believe Reds will be a force to be reckoned with next season.
It’s good to see Dave ‘Dabba’ Hewson saying this week that he’s hoping to be fit again for pre-season. I, like a lot of people, heard the rumours he was going to call it a day in football but on Tuesday, alongside the great John Walsh, Dabba put an end to these rumours.
He said: “I have damaged ligaments in my left ankle after a collision in the match with Burscough last week. It was one of those things that can happen in a tackle and wasn’t anybody’s fault.
“That’s not the ankle that has caused me problems in the past. I broke the right one against Carlisle Utd in a pre-season game two years ago and also damaged the ligaments in that ankle at Bury this season.
“I think I have been unlucky with injuries but it’s never made me consider finishing with the game.”
Another Reds player to look to in the future is young goal keeper Aaron Taylor. It takes a lot to oust the impressive Adam Collin but Taylor has done just that and looked comfortable when he is playing.
Now, this weekend is an interesting scenario. Reds are away at Harrogate, who can still pip Barrow to the final play-off spot.
Reds could do their Cumbrian neighbours a favour by beating Harrogate. Will they?
