AFTER what could only be described as a somewhat wet and grey winter the last couple of weeks brought us sharp sunshine and the early signs of Spring. IN JANUARY the government announced plans to invest in the next generation of nuclear power plants, which may have caused uproar outside of the county, but within the county the news was welcomed with quiet anticipation.

AS THE Government unveiled plans for a new generation of nuclear power stations, the National Skills Academy for Nuclear announced that it has selected the University of Central Lancashire, working with Portsmouth University, to develop leading-edge foundation degrees capable of supporting job progression opportunities in Britain’s nuclear industry.
