RELIEVED staff at Marks and Spencer in Dalton Road, Barrow, have been told their jobs are safe. There had been worries among the 80 staff after M&S reported a seven per cent drop in sales nationally in the 13 weeks leading up to the end of December. The company announced yesterday stores in Croydon and Woking, and 25 Simply Food branches, will shut, and 1,230 jobs will go.
