WHITEHAVEN Cricket Club has benefited to the tune of £500 from a town centre bank.
As part of the Natwest’s Cricket Force, customer services officer Gail Donnan organised representatives of the bank to carry out a project at the club, during which they cleaned up the clubhouse, cut the grass and sorted out the equipment in preparation for the new season.
And following the exercise, the bank was able to claim a Community Cashback Award of £500 which was donated to the club last week.
West Coast Community and Fitness Centre has also received a financial boost when it was given £250 from the police property fund.
Police community support officer Annabel Crawford presented the money to representatives from West Coast.
The money has been used to buy new boxing equipment including pads, medicine balls, body shields and head guards.
