Thompson on top in Egremont’s win over BCMS

PETER Thompson hit 43 in Egremont’s win over BCMS in Division One.
Schwarzer also posted 29 to help Egremont to a winning 110-6. Steve Miller (32 retired) and Mike Yeoman (35) top scored for BCMS, who finished on 99-5. Andrew Ireland (2-14) and Yeoman (2-19) performed well on the bowl.
Windscale Club, Seascale’s 158 saw off the challenge of Cockermouth Colts.
Robin Sparshott and Lee Fleet retired on 33 and 32 respectively, while Paul Knott added 28 and Pete Rooney 23.
Some strong bowling from Knott (2-4), Rooney (2-6) and Steve Brown Snr (2-8) restricted the Colts to 59.
Alex Stott was Cockermouth’s top bowler, taking 4-20.
Christian Moffatt (31 retired) and David Pears (30 retired) helped Sandwith Roofing to a total of 107-8 against Royal George, for whom Andrew Dodds (2-7) and David Chisnall (2-15) bowled well.
George managed 88-8, with 21 from Graham Cook and a retired 30 from Chisnall. Pears (2-19) and Moffatt (2-5) bowled well for Sandwith.
In other Division One action, Braithwaite Colts (133-8) beat Isel (115-7).
Billy Knight retired on 33 for Braithwaite, while John Gate (37) and Alan Brown (36) batted well for Isel, while Terry Johnstone (Colts) and Gilbert Pike and Chris Hodgson (Isel) all bowled well.
In Division Two, West Cumbria Law Society achieved 54 without loss to beat Distington’s 53. Gary Quinn bowled well for WCLS, taking 5-3.
Top performances from Graham Spark (27), Hugh Carter (37), Peter French (32), and Keith Lockwood (36 not out) helped Cockermouth Academicals to a winning 160-3 over Seascale Juniors (75-5).
And Baggrow Seconds (109-5) beat Allonby (108-5). Dan Pike hit a top score of 33 retired for Baggrow, while Adam Johnson hit 38 in vain for Allonby.
