THE end of an era has been marked at Wyndham with its final annual Summer Art Show before the school’s closure.

Entitled Retrospective for a New Beginning, the emotionally-charged event showcased the work of the students involved in the visual, performing and creative arts at the school.

An exhibition by the art department, including displays of pottery, paintings, sketchbooks and sculpture, was held in the concert hall.

The theatre then hosted an eclectic mix of music ranging from solo performances on piano, flute and voice, a line-up of bands including the newly-formed Van Mourik, to a grand finale featuring songs by legendary rockers Queen.

Drama performances in the show included a scene from Grease.

Also as part of the show, the textiles department staged Fashion Rocks, which featured designs and customised fashion modelled by students from across all the year groups at Wyndham and Ehenside Schools.

Both schools close their doors tomorrow (Friday) to reopen as the West Lakes Academy in September.
