Learn stage combat
Last updated 15:54, Wednesday, 26 March 2008
CHILDREN can learn the skill of stage combat this afternoon (Thursday) at Rosehill Theatre.
The family show The Sword in the Stone takes place at 2.30pm.
It is a musical adaptation of the classic children’s tale about Merlin and Arthur.
The show promises beautiful costumes, enchanting sets and magical puppetry.
Following the show, there will be a stage combat workshop.
This is suitable for children aged between seven and 11.
It involves learning how to pretend to fight realistically on stage.
Another family show – The Witch’s Bogey – takes place on April 5.
It is based on the Russian fairytale Baba Yaga and The Little Girl with The Kind Heart.
This is a tale of good conquering evil, with plenty of colourful actors and memorable songs.
You can join the stars of the show at the theatre an hour before each performance for a workshop to learn the songs from the show and know when to boo and hiss!
Telephone the theatre on 01946 692422 for ticket details for each show as well as the workshops.
