CLEATOR Moor Celtic hit four to record an excellent win over table toppers Hartlepool.
Celtic started very well and took the game to Hartlepool from the start. Gareth Evans opened the scoring on 22 minutes after the ball broke to him from a Craig Padley drive.
Captain Craig Scott was on hand to double Celtic’s lead just before half time when he finished from 15 yards.
Hartlepool showed some of their class by putting Celtic under pressure and forced keeper Brian Miller into a finger tip save in the first minute of the second half.
The visitors pulled a goal back through Ross, but Celtic scored their third through Zach Rudd who outpaced the defence to slot the ball past the keeper at the near post.
And Glyn Edwards made it a good night when, in injury time, he scored from the edge of the box with a left foot drive.
Celtic’s home against South Shields Cleadon on Saturday was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. This Saturday, they host Willington (2.30pm kick-off).
