WHITEHAVEN Civic Hall has scored another massive coup in securing a gig from The Zutons. Tickets go on sale on Monday.
The Liverpool band have toured and played at festivals all over the world but they are not too big for the 600-capacity Whitehaven venue.
Duty manager Paul Tomlinson called an agent who works for other bands who have played at the Civic such as Idlewild and Super Furry Animals.
And he was delighted to be told that The Zutons would be interested in coming up. "I just rang on spec so it was fantastic news," said Paul. "It’s got to be our biggest gig, apart from Morrissey of course!"
It has been confirmed that the band, whose singles have included You Will You Won’t and Valerie, will be playing here on Friday 25 April. Tickets will be available from the Civic Hall box office from 9am on Monday (April 7) or by calling 01946 514960.
The band’s debut album, Who Killed The Zutons? was released in 2004 and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. The band was also nominated for the British Breakthrough Act at the 2005 BRIT Awards.
The tickets, priced at £17.50 each, are limited to four per person.
