Indie rockers Bluetones all set to play in Whitehaven
Last updated 15:52, Wednesday, 09 April 2008
WITH the Zutons date now confirmed, Whitehaven Civic Hall are also hosting another big band – the Bluetones – on May 10.
The Bluetones have enjoyed a career which has spanned 10 years and are due to release a new album – The Bluetones Collection – two days after the Whitehaven gig which is part of a national tour.
The Bluetones have had five studio albums but this collection is the first time that they have personally had the opportunity to select all the tracks themselves – cherry picking songs from long forgotten B-sides and album favourites.
Their debut album, Expecting To Fly entered the charts at number one in 1996. They have had 13 Top 40 UK chart entries to their name.
Tickets for the gig are £16.50 (£15.50 for CalCARD holder in advance.) Doors open 7pm.
For tickets and information telephone the box office on 01946 514960 or via the website www.civichall.org.uk
