Egremont’s Central hosts live music

A NEW live music venue has been set up in Egremont.

The Central pub, in Main Street, is hosting a wide variety of bands and musicians on Saturday nights.

Society’s Child were the first band last Saturday and coming up this Saturday (April 19) is Rockers Rollin.

On April 26 there will be Groovejuice, followed by Sam Payne on May 3 and The Piranhas on May 10.

A CONCERT in Cleator Moor will be raising money for a new support group for people with mental health problems and their families.

The Blue Skies Support Group has been set up in Cleator Moor and the concert will be a fund-raising event.

The Night of Brass and the Voices of Angels will feature Cleator Moor Brass and the St Bees Village School choir.

It takes place in Cleator Moor Methodist Church, on Saturday, April 26, at 7pm.

Admission for adults is £2 and children under 12, 50p.

There will be refreshments and a raffle.

LIFE drawing classes are taking place at The Beacon, Whitehaven. They started on April 14 and continue to run on April 21, 28, May 12 and 19 and June 2.

They run from 10.30am-12.30pm and tutor is Inigo Ford, a local artist and former student.

ST BEES Arts Society will be hearing about Early Mediaeval Art, Image and Meaning at its next meeting.

The talk will be given by Philip Holdsworth, archaeologist and art historian, on Wednesday, April 23, at 8pm. It takes place in the St Bees Management Centre.

ESKDALE Art once again takes place over the second Bank Holiday in May.

St Bega’s Primary School is expected to be full of a wide variety of art work from paintings, pictures and photographs to jewellery, woodwork and pottery.

There will also be open gardens in the village, and home made refreshments.

The 15th annual art show promises a great weekend out for the family.

COCKERMOUTH Georgian Fair is being held on Saturday, May 3 and promises a wide range of attractions including 19th century style street entertainers, a costumed procession, a market and military re-enactment.

AN exhibition of iconic photographs of legendary footballer Pele is taking place in Keswick. It is showing at the Treeby and Bolton gallery in Lake road.
