Five-star Celtic

A DOUBLE strike from Craig Padley helped an injury-hit Celtic to a fine win at Guisborough.
The visitors started positively and forced the play in the home side’s half. But, from Guisborough’s first attack after only three minutes, they took the lead. Craig Scott was adjudged to have fouled Whyte and Mills converted from the spot.
Celtic continued to have all the play with their midfield dominating. And on 29 minutes, they got their reward when Glyn Edwards crossed for Craig Padley to head home from 10 yards.
The Cumbrians went in front five minutes before the break. Padley was again involved and he switched the play to Edwards who threaded a ball through for Gareth Evans to score from 12 yards.
Just before half-time, Celtic got their third when Edwards drew defenders before passing to Watson to score.
Although the conditions were poor, Celtic started the second half well and immediately made it four, Padley slotting the ball past the advancing keeper.
The game was over as a contest from this point as the home side could not mount a serious attack or string many passes together while Celtic were able to continue with confidence.
Ben Bateson scored the last for Celtic with 10 minutes left when he headed home.
Celtic have three away games in the next week. They travel to Silksworth Community on Saturday, to Teesside Athletic on Monday, April 21, and to Easington Colliery on Wednesday, April 23.
