MRS E Thornton presided over the April meeting, held in the Village Hall, at 7pm.
After the minutes were read and signed, and the County letter read, the arrangements were finalised for Friday, April 11, when Ravenglass WI hosted a party of 40 French people, on an exchange visit to West Cumbria. They would be given afternoon tea in the village hall, after a visit to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
The speaker for the evening was Susan Denham-Smith, on her sledging run across Ireland.
She was thanked by Mrs West.
Competition winner for a glass ornament was 1 Mrs Rugless; 2 Mrs Ashburner; 3 Mrs West.
