Haig Museum wants your help

RECOGNISE anyone? Haig Colliery Mining Museum is asking for help from The Whitehaven News’ readers to put names to faces in this 1944-45 picture of fab footie team Haig United.
The players are obviously well pleased with themselves and their performance which has brought in some impressive silverware.
Pam Telford, manager of Haig, says: “We’ve received the photo from a lovely chap, now living in Biggar, Lanarkshire, whose dad, Jimmy Ness, is fourth from the right, standing up at the back. We’d like to know a bit more about it to feature in our exhibition.’’
Call the museum on 01946 599949 if you can shed any light.
