Allen stars in Lowca win

LOWCA pulled off a shock result when they defeated Wigton 34-14 away in the Division Two play-offs semi-final.
Lee Allen scored a hat-trick for Lowca, Tony Tinkler crossed twice, and Paul Lancaster touched down; Keith Campbell converted all but one effort.
Wayne Southward and Chris Pattinson replied for Wigton, who were only 12-8 behind at half time, and Andrew Logue landed three goals.
In other rugby league action, Cockermouth scored four tries to Seaton Rangers’ three in the E Lamb & Son Cumberland Amateur Cup but lost 20-18, and Ellenborough Rangers beat Queens 22-11 in the semi-final of the Bartlett’s Insurance Champion of Champions Series.
They will meet Bank Quay Bulls in the series final on May 24.
