Windscale caught cold

WINDSCALE hit three away goals but still ended up on the losing end of a seven-goal thriller at Coxhoe.

The hosts caught the West Cumbrians cold in the early exchanges and went 2-0 up.

The visitors picked up the pace after half-time and pulled a goal back through Hartley, but Coxhoe restored their two goal advantage through Charlton.

Jack Wallace kept Windscale in it with a goal, but Gareth Mcmahon hit Coxhoe’s fourth. Stand-in striker Ryan Lowery fired the Cumbrians’ third.

Windscale followed this goal-fest with a drab 0-0 home draw against Annfield Plain.

On Saturday, Windscale host South Shields Harton & Westoe (2.30pm kick-off), followed by Whitehaven AFC away on April 28 (6.30pm).
