Your chance to play on same stage as Status Quo
Last updated 15:54, Wednesday, 30 April 2008
THIS is the final chance for you to fulfil the dream of performing on the same stage as rock superstars Status Quo.
All you have to do is enter our fantastic competition.
However, you will need to move quickly as the closing date has been moved forward to Friday, May 9, due to the need to confirm technical requirements with the main act.
Whether you perform as a solo artist or in a band, The Whitehaven News has teamed up with the organisers of August’s open air concert to offer individuals and groups the opportunity to perform in front of up to 10,000 people.
Status Quo will be playing Whitehaven’s Recreation Ground on Saturday, August 2.
All you have to do is send a mini disk, CD or cassette featuring two contrasting songs. Also include about 100 words on you or your band and a photograph.
A panel of judges will listen to all entries and choose two winners to perform on the day.
Send entries to: Status Quo competition, The Whitehaven News, 148 Queen Street, Whitehaven CA28 7AZ.
Rules: The judge’s decision is final in all matters and we reserve the right to amend the rules as necessary. Two winners will be invited to perform a four-minute spot each at some point prior to the support acts appearing on stage. A minimum amount of technical equipment will be permitted but use can be made of the house PA. Full details of technical equipment will be available prior to the event. Entries cannot be returned.
