Saints unlucky after testing Aspatria
Last updated at 09:48, Thursday, 19 November 2009
ONLY three games went ahead as five were lost to the weather.
Games at Longtown, Frizington, Cleator Moor Celtic, FC 32, Wigton Harriers, Parton and Windscale all fell to the rain.
Aspatria switched their cup game with St Bees to Silloth and reports say the first division side were unlucky not to get to the quarter-finals of the JJ’s Snooker Club Whitehaven Cup.
But strikes by Richard Hudgson and Daniel Brough cancelled out Damien King’s strike as it finished Aspatria 2, St Bees 1.
Holders Netherhall also went through after Andrew Laws hit four at Hearts of Liddesdale.
Karl Fillingham also netted as the home side scored through two from Andrew Lee and Daniel Brough, it ended Hearts of Liddesdale 3, Netherhall 5.
The only other game to be played was a Tesco Division One encounter as Ian Rumney marked his return to Carlisle AFC in style.
Three Carlisle players hit hat-tricks.
Chris Celleher, Andy Rodgers and David McCrone all netted three each and one from Tom Lucko made it Carlisle AFC 10, Wigton Athletic 1.
