Mighty Man clothes shop closing

A CARLISLE store which sold clothes for the larger man is to close.
Mighty Man, in Kinmont Arcade, off Fisher Street, will crash to Earth at the end of this week when it shuts to become an internet-only business.
Mighty Man owner Mike Elliott has sold the brand to a West Midlands-based entrepreneur who will continue the business in cyberspace.
Mr Elliott will concentrate on his Just Cumbria Homes business, an ‘Easyjet’-style no-frills property sales firm which he aims to franchise nationwide.
He said: “The shop will close for good at the end of this week.
“We are just in the process of selling the website to someone from the West Midlands, who will also buy all of the stock.
“Online was a route we were going to take with it anyway. Big guys tend to shop more online than actually going into shops.
“But the buyer got in touch, said they were interested in buying and came up with a reasonable offer, so we sold it.”
No jobs will be lost in the closure; the shop was run by Mr Elliott and wife Debbie and did not employ any other staff.
Mr Elliott added: “It will allow me to concentrate on the Just Cumbria Homes business which takes up a lot of my time.”
Mighty Man opened in October last year selling smart and casual men’s fashion in sizes 2XL-8XL and trousers and jeans with 40-60 inch waists.
